The sports festival, which is now on its 10th year, aims to develop the talents of young Navoteños under the city government’s “Atletang Navoteño Grassroot Sports Development Program.”

For this year, the city government will open basketball and volleyball for 21 years old and below category as well as for the 12 years old category, in cooperation with the Liga ng mga Barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.

“This project aims at looking in the potentials of our young athletes to develop and enhance as well. This could also be a good reminder to our youth to consider the value of discipline and hard work and to make use of their summer vacation constructively,” Tiangco said.

The Navotas city government annually appropriates funds for the summer youth programs such as free sports clinic, theatrical workshop, inter-barangay sports fest and the special program for employment of students.
